Join me for a weekend long retreat where you will learn all about the art of natural hand poured candles in my on farm workshop.  Packed full of practical knowledge on making your own natural candles using soy & coconut wax, pure essential oils and cotton or hemp wicks.  Whether you are blending for pleasure at home or starting a candle business, this will give you the confidence to develop your own candle making practice.

We’ll cover beautiful essential oil blends, scent loads, flash points.  Practical information on safe essential oils to use, blending with wax, scents for ailments, relaxation and uplifting the spirits.

Arrive on Friday and settle in.  Explore the gardens and farm before a delicious home cooked evening meal.

Saturday after a delicious breakfast we’ll head down to the workshop and start to explore the different essential oils, waxes, wicks and vessels. The importance of knowing your scent load and getting it right for your candle and the benefits of essential oils.  Next we will sample a range of essential oil blends, browse through blend formulations and formulate a scent of your own.

After lunch we will make and hand pour our candles either using the scents I created or your own blend creation, once our candles are poured I will give a practical talk on how I got started and why, how I manage my candle business, making candles at home, where to source the finest wax and essential oils and much more before ending with questions.

Home baked cream tea’s will be served after the afternoon session

Saturday evening we’ll enjoy a delicious home cooked meal before relaxing in the sitting room in front of the open fire or log burner in the snug or if the weather permits stargazing round the fire pit.
