Visiting the farm FAQ
I have been asked many questions about visits to the farm over the years the most frequent questions and answers are below. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if your question is not listed below.
Why are you open by appointment only?
Simply put, because visits to the farm is not the only thing we do. We are a working farm and have to limit the amount of traffic that visits us, not only in volume but times too, as there are days where our livestock and other businesses demand our attention, making it unsuitable for us to open. We like to give visitors to the farm our undivided attention, by asking our guests to make an appointment to visit means that we can do this.
Do you have disabled facilities?
We have excellent access for wheelchairs in to the property and also bathroom facilities. Access in to the gardens is good, however, there is limited access around parts of the gardens as the pathways are narrow.
Do you allow children to visit?
We do allow well behaved children over 12 years to visit, however, please remember this is our home and we ask that you respect that, there are areas of the house that are not open to our visitors, we ask that you keep children with you and do not allow them to wander. Our gardens are open for visitors to enjoy, we do not provide any play area and children must be with an adult at all times.
Can we bring a picnic to eat in the gardens?
Please do not bring your own food. We are a registered eating establishment and we’re more than happy to provide our guests with lunch or afternoon tea, please ask to see one of our menus and order at the time of booking your visit.
Can we bring our well behaved dog?
Yes, we do allow well behaved dogs but your dog must be kept on a lead at all times and you must clean up after your dog. Please remember this is our home and we are a working farm.
Do you hire your house/gardens for events?Yes, we are happy to hire the house and gardens for small parties, business meetings or for a small private function and can cater for 30 people. Please contact me to discuss your requirements.
